What are elevator violations?
Elevator violations are breaches of code that are served to an elevator device. After receiving a violation, the building owner has a set amount of time to resolve the issue depending on its severity. Violations can quickly add up in penalties and even shut down your elevator service. How do I know if I have elevator violations?
Records of building violations are publicly available for search via the DOB website. However, Consolidated Elevator will oversee your violations and ensure that if any are administered they are taken care of in a timely manner.
How can I remove my violations?
Violations have to be corrected by an elevator company then provide proof of correction. For more severe violations, such as a shutdown, you may need to appear in court to plead guilty and pay the fine, or have us appear for you. At Consolidated Elevator we have a specialized inspections department that has a dedicated staff who are knowledgeable on all recent changes to D.O.B. regulations and have an excellent track record of avoiding these penalties for our clients.
